G’Day everyone, we are so STOKED to be back to school. Our theme for this term is a BEAUT and it ties in nicely with our Geography unit. Ok you’ve guessed it... our theme for this term is....... AUSTRALIA! Expect to see some ACE art pieces based on Aboriginal art around our classroom and I’m also sure that you will see some happy campers roaming around.  

 

Our writing genres for this term are explanation, persuasion and discussion texts. Keep an eye out for our writing displays throughout the classroom because these little beauties write the most entertaining pieces. So be prepared to be entertained by their creativity!

 

We will be collaborating with Year 1 again this term in both Geography and Technology and Enterprise. Our Geography focus for this term is People and Places. We will further develop our understanding of place and learn how places may be defined differently by diverse groups of people. In Technology and Enterprise we have a BIG kite project to work on over the term. During this time we will explore the history of different kites, their designs and we will even build our very own kites. We are super excited and are really hoping for some good kite flying weather this term.

 

We really enjoyed working with Year 6 last term and are happy to say that we will be continuing with our buddy reading groups. However we will have a particular emphasis on ICT. That means that the Year 6 students will help us to use some really cool and interesting apps like Aurasma.

 

I hope that this term is fun, full of laughter and that we make some EPIC memories together! I’m sure that it will be a RIPPER!
